Abiotic and Biotic Relations
In environments everywhere, all biotic factors are dependent on abiotic factors. This means that all living organisms need non-living things aspects such as water and sunlight to be able to survive in their environment. Without their corresponding abiotic factors, an animal or plant would die off, or migrate to another location that contains this missing part.

Geese and Water:
Geese are dependent on the abiotic factor, water. They can be seen at time simply floating on random bodies of water just like the pond in Saddle Brook County Park. The geese stay afloat these waters for hydration. The also get their food from the organisms under the water.
Plants and Sunlight:
The sun is a very important aspect of life for plants. The plants use the sun as a source to produce the proper glucose needed for the plants to survive. It plays a large role in the process of photosynthesis.
Ants and Rocks:
Ant colonies can usually be found under rocks along with many other types of insects. They use these rocks for shelter and protection from things that harm them, such as heavy rainfall.
