Food Chain

A food chain shows how energy is transferred from organism to organism in an ecosystem. The chain of energy begins in the producer series, and continues on until the apex predator series. It shows how every organism receives the food and nutrients that is necassary for it to survive. It is eat or be eaten in nature, and that is what is displayed in a food chain.

Producer - a producer gets energy from sunlight, water, and other nurtients which help them to make their own glucose

Herbivore - a herbivore is an organism that gets their energy from plants by consuming them

Omnivore - an omnivore is an organism that gets their energy from both plants and animals by consuming them

Carnivore - a carnivore is an organism that gets their energy from digesting other animals
