Parasitic Relationship

Paratism is the relationship in which one species benefits at the expense of the other. The parasitic relationship shown below is between an American Cocker Spaniel (Canis Lupus Familiaris) and a flea (Siphonaptera). The flea lives on the body of the Cocker Spaniel. It takes the blood and nutrients from the dog. The flea does not intend on killing the host, because it relies on it to live. However, if the dog, or any warm-blooded animal, is not treated for fleas, the organism ends up dying.
